Easy-to-Use Moving During Learning Resources – Many are FREE

Why do kids need to move while learning? Because active kids learn better!

Movement helps students feel better, work together as a team, reduce anxiety and maintain focus. Remember, if a child is sitting too long, they are missing out on vital movements that can help them learn.

Did you know? Classroom teachers, parents, and caregivers can contribute to their students’ need for movement while simultaneously teaching and reinforcing academic concepts.

There are several ways to incorporate movement into classroom learning: (1) physical activity boosts, (2) integrating movement into academic lessons, and (3) flexible seating for active learning such as balance balls and boards and standing and pedal desks

This may seem intimidating, but Active Schools and our partner organizations are here to help with hundreds of easy-to-use resources – and many are free. Click on this links in this document to make these resources your own!
